Jet setting minister under fire

The Federal Councillor, Ignazio Cassis , is under fire for using the government’s private jet to fly around the country.

Last weekend, Cassis attended a delegate meeting in Geneva for his party, The Liberals, where they agreed on slogans for the upcoming referendums. Heathen went home to Ticino, using the jet and then back to Bern.

The cost of the jet was around CHF 11,000 - not counting landing fees and parking. 

Some politicians say it’s ridiculous to use the jet to fly around Switzerland, which is such a small country. 
There have been efforts to stop ministers using the jet for domestic flights, but the government says it's sometimes unavoidable because of schedules.
