Average life expectancy in Switzerland has reached a new high – 85.8 years for women and 82.2 years for men.
While the general trend has been up, the figures did fall back during the pandemic.
The study by the University Center for General Medicine and Public Health shows the positive trend returns – now with record numbers.
Researchers say the first half of last ear was very positive due to the absence of flu and covid. Although infections did pick up at the end of last year, it wasn’t enough to affect the results.
