Lights go out tomorrow

Tomorrow is Earth Hour – we’re being encouraged to switch off all our lights between 8.30 and 9.30 tomorrow evening.

Many communities will also be involved. In Geneva, the Jet d’Eau will be switched off, as will lights in Lausanne, Morges, Montreux and Fribourg.

It’s being driven by the WWF, which suggest spending an hour in candlelight tomorrow.

It points out that we’ve just had the hottest day of the year and the oceans are the warmest they’ve been since records began.

It says Earth Hour is more important than ever.
