Local peacock celebrity meets fox. Not good.

Leon the peacock has had an untimely end. Very likely a fox is to blame.

Leon has been the star at the Colovray swimming pool in Nyon. He regularly visited from his home next door - owned by the multi-billionaire Ernesto Bertarelli.

The bird clearly loved the company of the sunbathers and swimmers. He spent the day by the pool and went back home at dusk.

But over the weekend – he failed to return.

The caretaker, fearing the worst, searched for Leon and found his remains.

There’s little doubt a local fox is responsible.
