The world’s longest train will run next weekend.
It’s been years in the planning and it’ll be almost 2 km long. To add to the spectacle, it’ll be on what’s widely recognised as the most beautiful train line in the world – the Albula line in Graubünden, which has UNESCO World Heritage status.
It’s to celebrate 175 years of Swiss Railways.
On one spiral section of the line, it’ll be visible on several levels at the same time – promising a spectacular sight.
The line will normally run one locomotive with four carriages – for the record attempt, 25 of those units will be joined together to make one train 1,910 meters long.
Tickets for the train ride have sold out. The record attempt will be on Saturday.
