A man in Fribourg has been fined after police discovered a cache of weapons in his home, which were also being stored incorrectly.
Last year the man was stopped in a random traffic check. He became aggressive and threatened the officers by saying ‘if they want to see their families again, they should back off’.
The police got a search warrant for his home. They found assault rifles, a collection of handguns, as well as bayonets and a machete.
Many of the weapons were illegal.
The police also noted the guns were poorly secured, despite having children in the house.
He was fined nearly CHF 9,000 – but suspended for two years.
