An explosion rocked central Geneva yesterday morning, severely injuring a 43-year-old man.
The man discovered a bag outside his home on the Rue de Saint Jean.
At a press conference, the Geneva attorney general, Olivier Journot, says the man picked up the bag, which exploded.
He says it was a serious explosion which created a significant blast.
The injured man was at home with his wife and two children at the time.
Police say there are no suspects at the moment, but there’s no evidence of a terrorist act.
Under the law, any incident which involves explosives means federal authorities are automatically involved.
Federal prosecutors are in charge and forensic experts from Bern and Zurich arrived on scene yesterday.
