After complaints that many of the street lights in the centre of Geneva are broken, the city is admitting it has a problem.
It points out that many of the lights are old – so spare parts are now difficult to get hold of – and their supply of spares has been exhausted.
Liberal Party city councillor, Pierre de Boccard is asking the city government to come up with a comprehensive plan to make sure the streets remain well lit, calling it a security issue.
As the 20 minutes newspaper points out, a casual stroll from Bel-Air to Rive shows that out of a total of 53 lampposts – 21 are out of order.
