Measles is a threat

Measles cases are rising again across Europe, and experts say Switzerland could lose its measles free status.

Austria has already lost that label after an outbreak of more than 500.

Infections are also increasing in France, the UK, and Poland - all driven by low vaccination rates.

 Health officials warn measles is extremely contagious and far from harmless, causing serious complications and even death. 

While Switzerland remains measles-free for now, authorities say imported cases are a real risk and stress that vaccination remains the most effective protection.
