Migros suffers supply problems

Shoppers at Migros may have noticed several dairy products are missing from the shelves – but charities are benefitting.

This is down to an IT glitch at one of its suppliers.

The problems started around 10 days ago. The subsidiary, Elsa, implemented a new system which instantly created bottlenecks in the supply chain. The issues are mainly affecting Migros own-branded products.

It doesn’t mean the food is not being made – it can’t be delivered in time due to the short-shelf life.

This means charities, such as Caritas, are receiving the products that can’t get to the shops.

Migros says the situation should improve over the next couple of weeks.
