Around 200 empty chairs were positioned on the Place des Nations yesterday to symbolize those Israelis who have been kidnapped by Hamas.
Each chair had a picture of one of the missing. There were also some baby strollers to mark the children who have been taken.
The youngest is only 6 months old – the oldest, 84 years.
The installation was arranged by a diverse group of supporters. The organisers said they range from Israeli citizens, to Jews living in Geneva and various other groups.
One of the volunteers says it’s not a demonstration, but a symbol. To make the absent visible.
