The cantons have responded to the government’s plans to bring in more restrictions in an effort to cut the infections rate.
While opinions between the 26 differ, there are some areas of agreements.
All the cantons have said there can’t be any more business closures, they reject compulsory working from home, social distancing in universities and limits on private gatherings.
But there are some differences on health passes. The majority agree on 2G rules – that removes the ability to use a negative test to access public areas – there was a strong rejection of the idea of 2G plus, which means the vaccinated and recovered also have to show a negative test.
Fribourg says the rule would not be economically sustainable.
Vaud goes further and suggests those who have had the booster shot should be exempt from many restrictions, including mask wearing. The canton says it would encourage more people to get jabbed.
The Federal Council is likely to announce its decision on Friday.
