Two mountain organizations, The Swiss Alpine Club and the Swiss Hiking Trail Association have joined forces to fight against a new, disturbing, trend.
They say it’s now far more common to find human excrement on trails – when once it was a rarity.
The organisations say it takes up to five years to decompose in nature and can have a negative impact on the local ecosystem.
So, they’ve released three videos to show how you can best meet the natural needs if you are in the mountains.
It’s suggested you dig a hole using a large stone and then fill it in afterwards – and take away any tissues. Don’t burn them, due to the risk of forest fires.
