Bitcoin is set to become more common in Switzerland with major retailers saying they will start to accept the cryptocurrency.
The price of bitcoin has soared in the last year - one is now worth CHF 48,000.
More than 4,000 outlets will start to take bitcoin over the next few weeks, including Manor and the service stations run by Shell, BP and Avia.
From next month the kiosk chain Valora will also take it.
Using bitcoin is set to be come easier as a new credit card will become available. Called Cryptonow has been set up by a company in canton Zug.
The start-up hopes the card will make bitcoin accessible to everyone.
