The government has also loosened restrictions on travelers coming into the country – especially for those who can prove they’re fully vaccinated or recovered from Covid-19.
Many countries and regions that were on a list that travelers from would have to quarantine are now free – even those which have a high rate of Delta variant infections, including the UK.
But those arriving will have to show they’ve been vaccinated or have recovered from Covid. Otherwise, they have to be tested and then quarantine.
The Federal Health Office says the vaccines offer a high protection against the new variants. But they are keeping the issue under review.
But it is advised to check the latest rules before traveling, especially with the destination country. Switzerland is working with the EU to make sure its Covid certificate is recognized in Europe and elsewhere.
