Geneva’s getting a new park.
The city has approved funding for a major new green space in the Vernets district.
Councillors voted to allocate CHF 28m to create the park on a former open-air car park near the ice rink.
The project will include nearly two thousand square metres of meadow.
City officials say the park is vital as the area undergoes rapid development, with around fifteen hundred new homes and university buildings planned in the coming years.
