The cross-border authority, Grand Genève is asking the Confederation for more than half a billion francs to boost public transport for frontalier workers.
One of the main aims will be soft transport – such as bike lanes. The proposal is for almost 100 kms of new routes, which will include new overpasses and tunnels.
There’s also a proposal for a new high frequency bus service from St Genis to CERN together with a 700 space Park and Ride car park.
The plan will first undergo a technical review and then could be put to parliament at the end of 2027.
