Figures show most e-scooter accidents are often because the rider is being stupid – or drunk. And there are worries a new rule coming in July will only make it worse.
Figures from the Federal Roads Office show half of accidents happen at the weekend, the rider is normally male, and very often under the influence.
But from July, it will be legal in Switzerland to have two riders on one scooter. Experts are concerned that will simply lead to more people being injured.
