It looks likely parliament will bring in anti-stalking laws this week.
Currently there are no specific laws to cover stalking, or obsessive harassment. So far, laws covering threatening behaviour have been used.
The new law will make it easier to tackle the growing problem of online stalking, such as sending hundreds or even thousands of text messages to a target.
While women are far more likely to be the centre of attention – it’s also a growing problem in schools, according to the VIA Association which supports those affected by violence and harassment in schools.
The new law is supported by the government and most parliamentarians – but the Swiss People’s Party remain opposed, saying existing laws are sufficient.
