Swiss Federal Railways have unveiled the carriages of the future.
A full-scale wooden mock-up was shown to the press.
The SBB says customers’ needs have changed and it’s hoped the new design will provide something for everyone.
In first class there will be the opportunity for a small sliding door next to the seat to allow for better privacy. There’ll be fewer face to face seats, but there will be an area with a sofa and table to cater for small groups travelling together.
There will also be more space for bikes and luggage.
The new carriages will start to roll at the end of the 2030s.
