As the autumn vaccination programme is now underway, regulators have approved another drug designed to fight the Omicron variant of covid.
Swissmedic says the new Pfizer jab can be rolled out across the country.
Like the Moderna vaccine currently in use – the new drug will target the BA.1 Omicron variant – although later mutations are now circulating.
But Pfizer does have another product which is awaiting approval which the makers claim will be effective against the BA.4 and BA.5 variants.
