The Federal Statistics Office is admitting to an embarrassing blunder after the Federal Elections.
While the number of seats remain unchanged, the percentage of votes won by each party have been readjusted.
Mainly the differences are very small - but there is one result which could be relevant.
The updated figures show The Liberals secured 14.3% of the vote, while The Centre party have 14.1%. That’s a drop of over half a percent for the Centre from the previously published number.
It means there’s a question over which is the third force in politics. Before the Centre claimed that prize – now the Liberals claim it’s their party.
The argument could impact the decision if the Centre party can legitimately claim a seat on the Federal Council, taking one off the Liberals.
All the adjustments are less than one percent.
