A list of destinations you must visit this year, compiled by the New York Times, has Geneva in tenth position out of a list of 52.
The paper suggests you should visit the new CERN science portal, visit Geneva’s chocolate factories, and the Breitling Kitchen Restaurant on the Quai des Bergues.
Other suggestions of places to go this year are Paris for the Olympics and North America for the eclipse in April.
