The old red and orange payments slips are now a thing of history.
All bank payments now have to be made with a QR code.
It’s likely you would have some sent to you already. The move has been planned for around three years – but there are reports of companies sending out invoices with the old forms. If so, you will have to ask them for a new one now.
Also, banks are warning that any standing orders you have may need to be updated, using a QR code.
While the theory is they are easier and more secure – as you don’t need to type in the long reference number - it’s still recommended you check the amount inserted before clicking ‘pay’.
