Be careful of oysters at the Christmas markets.
Customs officers in Geneva stopped a car found with 127 kilos of oysters – unrefrigerated.
The driver claimed they were for an office party, but officers found advertising flyers for an oyster import company.
It’s suspected they were destined for markets in the French speaking region.
They were declared unfit for human consumption and destroyed.
The driver has been fined and will have to pay the destruction costs.
