The Pharmacy associations in cantons Geneva and Vaud have come out against using a so-called vaccine passport to allow those who have had the jab to have certain advantages – such as going to a sporting event, the cinema or even travel.
Such passports are already being used in Israel and Iceland.
The pharmacies say it will be unfair until everyone who wants a vaccine can have it.
They suggest they can run a wider project which will also include those who have had a negative test.
The president of PharmaGenève, Rémi Lafaix, says the pharmacies already have their own secure IT network and once the legal framework is in place, they could operate a system which will allow more people to start to live a normal life again.
