A police officer in Lugano opened fire on a group of people attempting to rob a jewellery store yesterday morning.
The group of four was spotted by two officers from the city police on a bicycle patrol. One officer fired twice. Three were apprehended immediately – a fourth that had fled was soon caught.
No injuries were reported and police are now investigating.
