A woman who worked for the post office for over 30 years has been sentenced to a suspended jail term after admitting to stealing electronic items in the mail.
It’s estimated she stole over a quarter of a million francs worth of goods – on average three phones or tablets a day.
When police raided her home – they found 66 phones.
Her defence lawyer argued she was under the spell of a man who pretended he was in love with her.
In reality, he had another partner.
The phones were sold mainly in Spain and Bolivia.
She was given a one year suspended sentence – her fake partner was given 18 months.
