A postal worker in Basel has been convicted of stealing more than CHF 100,000 from the mail, to finance his gambling addiction.
A court heard he opened more than 120 letters containing valuables.
He’s also been ordered to pay damages to several companies.
He's been given a suspended 14 month prison sentence and has to undergo therapy for his addiction.
Judges say the sentence is relatively light as he confessed and cooperated with authorities.
