Drugs which help against contracting Covid 19 will be available in Switzerland by May.
The drugs are experimental and not a vaccine and work by combining antibodies and are effective for around 6 months.
They will be offered to those who are especially at risk, such as organ transplant recipients or those with weak immune systems.
Initially the government will cover the cost until they’re included in the standard health insurance.
They haven’t been authorized by Swissmedic – the regulator – yet, but doctors can prescribe them on an exceptional basis, says the Federal Health Office.
