Environmental protestors from Geneva and France met at the Bugey atomic power station in France to fight against plans to build more reactors on the site.
Geneva has been in a long running fight with French officials about the plant as it’s only 70 km from the border.
Switzerland has objected to the plans to extend the life of the aging power station – but those calls have been ignored. Now France wants to expand the facility.
Opponents call the idea a ‘time-bomb’ and say renewable power systems are now far cheaper than nuclear.
