Large queues formed outside a newly opened walk-in vaccination centre at the La Praille shopping centre, and it seems the French president Emmanuel Macron is to thank.
Many in the queue described themselves to the press as vaccine hesitant. But an announcement in France that all health workers will have to be jabbed if they want to be paid and access to many activities, such as holiday camps, amusement parks or festivals will be restricted to those with a certificate seems to have changed their minds.
France has already announced it will accept Swiss certificates.
One person the queue says they’re planning a holiday in France and don’t want to be restricted.
Pre-registration at the pharmacy in the centre is not needed and anyone who gets the first jab is guaranteed to get a second.
