The opening of a new apartment building yesterday in Zurich highlighted the housing shortage as hundreds queued to view.
The line was as long as 150 meters – one joking likened it to a queue for tickets for a Justin Bieber concert.
The building in the Seebach region is half an hour from the city centre by public transport. Only a few years ago, agencies struggled to rent out homes in the area. Now demand is huge.
All 24 flats have now been allocated.
