Racial discrimination is on the rise - and the problems are mainly in schools.

Figures from anti-racism groups say there were more than 1,200 cases last year - a record high.

It's up 3% from the year before - but 2024 saw a 40% hike.

But researchers say the figures are almost certain to be underrepresented as many incidents are unreported.

Nearly a quarter of the cases are in schools.

It’s mainly black people who are the main targets, with a third of reports - but anti-Muslim sentiment is also on the rise.
