Reluctance to book summer holidays

It seems we’re all reluctant to book a summer holiday. There are more bookings – but many are for the autumn or even next year. But the number for this summer season is way down.

The travel company Kuoni says those who had had the vaccine are now planning trips for later.

A spokeswoman for Hotelplan says customers are worried about the ever-changing list of countries that can be visited without quarantine requirements.

Hotelplan also says it may be seeing the start of a new trend. While people are holding off booking a trip for the summer – more are looking for last minute bargains – hoping to get away before the government’s list of safe countries change.
