Residents in Satigny in canton Geneva are being told to avoid drinking tap water after a technical incident hit a reservoir yesterday morning.
An air leak was suspected, raising fears of possible contamination. As a precaution, authorities are urging people to boil tap water before using it.
By late afternoon, the issue was narrowed down to three hamlets - Bourdigny, Choully and Peissy - affecting around 700 residents.
Bottled water is being distributed, and test results are expected within three days.
