It’s not scabies - mainly.
For the past few days, authorities have been reacting to reports that many school children in cantons Vaud and Fribourg have picked up the mite. But further studies have shown it’s not as many as first feared and many cases are mis-diagnosed.
While there have been some cases, it’s now being discovered that many symptoms are being caused by the heat, mosquito bites, chlorine and sun cream. All can cause rashes similar to scabies.
Parents are reminded that scabies is treatable and it can’t be spread by simple contact.
