A Geneva primary school needs urgent expansion to accommodate hundreds of new kids.
The school, close to the airport in Meyrin, already has 225 students, which is a 135% rise in the last ten years. And more are coming.
The area is booming. A new neighbourhood called ‘Sapin-Joinville’ has been built by private developers – but with no coordination with local authorities.
Also, there’s a move to change what were office buildings into accommodation in the area.
The local council has green-lit an extra CHF 8.5m to make nine new classrooms.
