School text books in Switzerland show the country as homogenously white and don’t tackle racism sufficiently.
That’s a conclusion from the Federal Commission against Racism.
The Commission says there has been some movement on tackling stereotypes, but the issue of racism itself is not looked at head-on.
It adds that teachers say they find the books inadequate and they need more training.
The Commission recommends racism should be in the curriculum and teacher skills should be improved.
