A small plane has crashed in the mountains in the Alpstein mountain range in Appenzell.
A search was launched after police in Sankt Gallen got reports yesterday afternoon that the aircraft was missing.
The wreckage has been found, but in it’s an inaccessible part of the mountain range and there’s no information on survivors. Helicopter crews say parts of the plane are spread over a wide area.
It’s being reported the plane took off from Siegen in Germany and it’s a Cessna. It’s unknown how many people were on board and what its destination was.
The rescue operation is continuing this morning.
