Residents of the Geneva commune of Soral are raising the alarm over growing traffic problems linked to the Soral II border crossing.
Locals report cars using the crossing before its official opening time and driving at excessive speeds through the village’s 30-kilometre-per-hour zone.
According to the municipality, more than 7,000 vehicles pass through Soral each day, especially during rush hour.
Locals say they want the borders to be closed at night. Many complain it's hard to get a good night’s sleep.
