Speed camera vandal spared prison

A 52-year-old man from Aargau has avoided prison despite carrying out a major vandalism campaign across Zurich.

The court heard he sabotaged more than forty speed cameras with adhesive spray and smashed parking meters, causing hundreds of thousands of francs in damage.

Already known to the courts, the man was handed a two-year suspended sentence instead of jail, along with mandatory therapy and a CHF 2,000 fine.
