Spring is arriving a little too early for many mountain resorts which are welcoming hundreds of children as part of the Winter Sports Week.
Two groups from canton Thurgau have come home early due to lack of snow and others have had to relocate to higher points – which is confirmed by the sports office in canton Zurich.
Some have now organised alternative pastimes. Instead of skiing or snowboarding, the kids are now hiking, swimming or even playing mini-golf.
But there are hopes that those children due to head to the mountains next week may have more luck as temperatures should fall and some fresh snow is expected.
