Storms, heavy rain and hail swept across the country last night.
MeteoSuisse says a an exceptionally long-lasting and powerful line of thunder storms tracked across the country from Lake Geneva to Lake Constance.
The storms left a train of destruction with roofs being blown off – one school in canton Zurich lost its roof – trees were downed and streets flooded.
Some areas around Zurich lost electricity for a while last night.
All power has now been restored.
