Storms hit central areas

Severe storms swept across central parts of the country last night, forcing Linkin Park to pause their Letzigrund stadium concert in Zurich for about 50 minutes.

The band returned to the stage once the rain eased and finished the show.

In canton Uri, authorities warned of a rockslide or landslide on the Susten Pass between Gorezmettlen and the summit, urging drivers to avoid the area.

The A2 autoroute was briefly closed at Bolzbach in canton Uri due to flooding, and some rail services leaving Lucerne were interrupted.

MétéoSuisse is warning of Alpine thunderstorms and expects further unsettled weather in the coming days.
