A survey has found that people over the age of 65 are choosing to be vaccinated against Covid-19 to protect their own health and the wider population in general, whereas those under the age of 24 view being vaccinated as a way to travel and return to normal life.
The survey, by the Zurich University of Applied Sciences, has questioned around 9,000 people online in Switzerland over the past few months.
In addition to wanting their old lives back, the survey found that under 24s were also keen to be vaccinated to protect at-risk groups and to avoid the possibility of another lockdown.
More than half of parents of children under the age of 16 said that they would definitely or probably have their children vaccinated. A further 10% said they wouldn’t decide until they had further information about the effects of a vaccine on young people, while 15% said that they were against children being vaccinated at all.
