Swiss jabs good for US travel

The United States is opening up travel in a couple of weeks to all those who have been vaccinated.

President Biden has signed a new order which compels airlines to check the vaccination status of all passengers on US bound flights.

Airlines will also have to keep the names and addresses of passengers for 30 days to allow for follow-up in case of exposure.

All the vaccines issued in Switzerland will be recognised, as they have been authorized in the US.

American authorities will also accept any vaccine cleared by the World Health Organization and mixed doses. So far that doesn’t include the Russian made Sputnik jab.

Under 18s will be exempt – but they will have to show a negative test.

The new rules come into force on November 8th.
