Swiss Post is testing four-legged delivery robots in Regensdorf, Zurich.
On a pilot route, the robot accompanies a parcel postman, carrying heavy boxes from Migros Online and other consignments.
The aim is to see how well the robot handles real-world tasks, like climbing stairs, getting in and out of the delivery vehicle, and moving on roads and pavements without damaging goods.
Developed by ETH Zurich,, the tests began in August and will continue until mid-September.
Swiss Post stresses that, despite the technology, humans will remain essential for parcel delivery.
