Switzerland beat the Philippines 2-0 in its first match of the FIFA Women’s World Cup taking place in New Zealand this year.
Goals were scored by Ramona Bachmann on a penalty kick just before halftime, and Seraina Piubel scored another goal in the second half to take them comfortably into the lead.
With this victory Switzerland now ties with New Zealand at first place in group A.
Switzerland will face Norway next Tuesday.
