Switzerland could be doing more for the environment

Switzerland could be doing more to protect the environment, according to a new report by the Swiss Academy of Sciences.

Experts warn current measures lack coordination and are insufficient to meet targets, including cutting emissions in half by 2030.

They highlight major gaps in transport, heating and construction, and criticise the financial sector for not doing more to support the transition.

The report also cautions that relying on foreign emissions credits could delay progress towards the goal of net-zero by 2050.
